The stairs will have to do

I have been sitting on my butt most of the week since my hubby is in the hospital. Today, on my way in, I walked up 11 flights of stairs (or was it 10?). We are on the 11th floor and boy does it get hot by the time you get to the top! A few hours after that, I took a long walk and then hiked back up the stairs. So, all is not lost despite being away from home and stuck in a hospital room.

I have been eating less too. There's not much food handy, so that helps with the needless snacking I tend to do at home.

I am missing the gym though. Hope my workout buddy is ready to hit it hard next week!

Working it off

I have been doing pretty good about working out and eating right better. I've been averaging about 4 workouts a week and 1 or 2 sweets if any. That is pretty good for me considering I couldn't keep my hand out of the cookie jar a few weeks ago. But, the jeans are not lying so it must be done. I hope I can keep the workouts going, but it will be hard over the next few weeks with me going out of town for two of the next three. Maybe I can take my Wii and hook it up to the hospital TV....not sure that will happen though. Thank God for my workout buddy getting back into somewhat of a routine! It always helps to have someone to go with.

Battle of the bulge

Well, it is official. I am battling a slight bulge. It's not a terrible thing because I can still get into my jeans, I just have to jump up and down a little on some of them. I am hoping to get back into a workout routine. My old buddy might be available a few mornings a week....around 5 a.m. Ouch! But, Summer will be sleeping so I won't have to worry about her while I workout. And, I'll be done before my day even starts.

I am trying to be a little less indulgent in food. I have only had one thing sweet today. Well, make that too because I did have to get a mocha light frappacino when we stopped so Summer could pee at Starbucks. But, if she would've been able to hold it, it would be just one. That is much better than my usual routine, eating cookies and such for breakfast. Hopefully, I can control myself and watch what I put into my mouth. Stop the "boredom" eating.

Here's hoping he really shows up and wants to workout! Also, that I will stop relying on sweets to fill my food craving.
